For the Diamond Standard Wedding Website Package, the practices focus on clarity, essentialism, and gratitude for simplicity, ensuring the core information is communicated beautifully and effectively without overcomplicating things.

Here are four tailored practices:

Mindfulness Practice: “The Single Focus View”

This practice focuses on bringing full, non-judgmental attention to the most critical element of the website at hand, preventing the desire to add unnecessary features.

  • The Setup: Sit together for 5 minutes. Have a blank piece of paper or the website’s main menu outline visible.
  • The Focus: Close your eyes, take a deep breath, and identify the single, most important piece of information a guest must know right now (e.g., the date, the venue, the RSVP deadline).
  • The Action: Open your eyes and look at the outline/paper. Spend the next few minutes mentally stripping away everything that is not that one piece of information. Notice the feeling of clarity and lightness that comes with this simplicity. If a thought pops up about adding a complex feature, label it (“Ah, a distraction“) and return your focus to the single essential detail.
  • The Integration: This trains you to prioritize and communicate the core purpose of your standard website, ensuring it is highly effective and easy for guests to navigate.

Nature Practice: “The Clear Horizon”

This practice uses a simple, vast natural view to model the clear, focused scope of your standard website.

  • The Setup: Find a location with a simple, expansive, and clear view—a large, uncluttered field; a calm, broad lake; or a simple horizon line at the ocean.
  • The Focus: Stand or sit side-by-side, focusing on the uncomplicated beauty of the wide-open view. Notice the lack of clutter or excess detail. The view itself is the message.
  • The Action: Discuss: If this horizon is our website, what is the three-point landing—the three essential sections that are immediately visible and necessary? (Likely: Home, Details/Venue, RSVP). Use the feeling of visual ease from the horizon to define the aesthetic of your website’s main navigation.
  • The Integration: Connecting your website vision to the straightforward elegance of a clear horizon reinforces the beauty and strength found in simplicity and clear communication.

Somatic Practice: “Grounding the Essentials”

This practice links physical stability to the decision-making process, ensuring the foundational choices feel solid and right.

  • The Setup: Before confirming a foundational website element (e.g., the primary font, the main accent color, the wording for the RSVP), stand up and spread your feet shoulder-width apart.
  • The Focus: Close your eyes and feel your feet firmly rooted on the ground. Say the proposed choice out loud (e.g., “We’re going with the serif font, ‘Garamond'”).
  • The Action: As you speak the choice, pay attention to your sense of balance and physical security. If you feel yourself instinctively wobble, tighten up, or lean away, it’s a sign of internal hesitation or misalignment. If you feel grounded and steady, the choice is sound.
  • The Integration: This practice helps you feel the confidence of a strong, simple foundation, allowing you to move forward with clear decisions on your essential website elements.

Journal Prompt: “The One Page Story”

This prompt requires couples to distill their entire wedding website’s purpose into a single, compelling narrative.

The Prompt:

“If your entire Diamond website had to fit onto one physical page (a simple flyer or announcement), what five sentences and three images would you absolutely have to include?

Write those five sentences exactly as they would appear. Ensure they cover who, what, when, where, and what the guest needs to do next. Do not worry about how the website will look—only focus on the minimum required information needed to succeed.”

The Goal: Completing this exercise forces you to be ruthless about essentialism and clarity, guaranteeing the content you do put on your standard website is perfectly targeted and highly effective.

WEBSITE STRUCTURE
SINGLE PAGE | In a one-page site, all the information is presented on a single page, so navigation links serve as anchors to different sections of the page. This layout means that one-page websites often have smooth scrolling and parallax effects, which give them an immersive feel.
TABS | Tabbed navigation can help conserve screen real estate, which is particularly important in mobile applications or websites where space is limited. By presenting content within tabs, designers can make efficient use of the available screen space, while still providing users with access to all the content they need.
WEBSITE OVERALL LOOK & FEEL
FIND INSPIRATION | Look at other wedding websites for inspiration before your start creating your own. This will help you clarify what you will like to include on your own site while giving the website designer a clear understanding of your aesthetic and the elements you resonate with.
A wedding mood board or vision board is super helpful when conveying your ideas to a team of wedding vendors. The phrase, "A picture is worth a thousand words" rings true here - it's one thing to describe what you envision for your wedding day, but real-life examples of what you're trying to achieve will eliminate confusion and help bring your wedding website to life.
PRIMARY FONT / HEADER TEXT (choose a font that looks great in a bigger size and does a good job of grabbing attention) (tick a box to select)
SECONDARY FONT / BODY TEXT (choose a font that is both legible and easily readable) (tick a box to select)
Optional TERTIARY / ACCENT FONT (choose a font that quickly catches the eye) (tick a box to select)
A brief overview of your wedding day for guests.
A snapshot of you as a couple or a trailer teasing the guests and hinting at how much fun the wedding with be. Tell your story chronologically. You can include some favorite memories from your relationship (trips, moving in together, etc.), as well as your favorite things to do together and what you love about each other, finishing with your proposal story.
Include key details about the venue (or venues) for the ceremony and reception. This should include directions, requirements, parking info, important information for guest comfort (attire requirements etc), and the venue website if possible.
REGISTRY
If you’ve decided to use a wedding gift list, a wedding website allows you to easily place a link straight to the site making it accessible to your guests. Alternatively, you may ask your guests to give a monetary donation to a charity or a contribution to your honeymoon, in which case this can also be noted down. Trust us, your guests will be grateful for the heads up!
